"Replis", exhibition by Laurent Jaffrennou, from March 16th to July 31th, 2021
Superimposing his drawings, collages, and mixed media, Laurent Jaffrennou sedimented different layers, made of transparent layers and washed out forms linked together, sometimes by a simple thread. The artist thus creates a universe punctuated with folded horizons and refuges, which carry within them the thickness of lived time. Through an alchemy between paint and paper, he reveals the efforts of man to build his own world, and maintain it in time.
The palimpsest architectures of Laurent Jaffrennou speak to us of the difficult construction of the Self, making perceptible the fragility of the being and the interior folds.
